Helen left her guests, specially Melisa for a moment and went to bedroom to freshen up. She thought
that how Mr. Holland knew about her, or her husband and wanted to save his daughter, the investment he'd made on Jacob! She knew that people called personal injury law firms, or lawyers, ambulance chasers. They always knew about these kind of cases and went after them.
"What if he went after this case to bring Jacob and Steve together! What if he told Jacob that he must take this case, and then he heard about the party and told Jacob that he must accept invitation!"
Walking back to the room, where the children had the party, Helen was almost certain that all of these were planned by Mr. Holland to bring these two men together! She remembered that Jacob had told her many times that every body at law firm knew about he's having an affair, a lot of them did. But Jacob also told her once that he thought Mr. Holland, Melisa's father was suspicious. She even at this point was sure that Melisa knew Jacob had a mistress, but certainly did not know that Helen was her husband's flame!
"So Mr. Holland planned all these. Jacob told me that his law firm knew about all the accidents through the police reports which were public records, and went after the victims to get clients for their law firm. He said that they promised them big settlement; and if some of them didn't want to go after the other person, they would finally convince them to do!"
What people would not do to fix up things that were not going their way! How strange that this man, who had invested so much money on Jacob and had even given his daughter to him in marriage, would not, in any way, let all these investment go to waste!. Like Jacob told her once:" No matter what it takes, we go after people in the worse time of their lives and promise them to get a lot of cash settlement! No matter how much they say no, they finally say yes." He laughed and then said: "That is what we've gotten the name of the ambulance chaser!!"
Soon the afternoon party was ended. The mothers and the one father and their children left one by one. They all said they they would return for the adult party with their spouses in the evening!!
